My 2D design final project. We had to choose from a list of band titles, write a bio for the band, and then make a poster.
BerganEvan was born to a heroin addict single mother. Ever since he was little kid he had wanted to play the guitar. He had heard people playing guitars on streets downtown late at night while his mother made her dealings. He had no education and at age nine his mom was finally was arrested and he was put in charge of raising his seven siblings. At this point he decided he was going to find himself a guitar and use it to make money. Unfortunately, he was uneducated, and he could not get tell the different between the electric violin and the guitar. As time went on, he learned that the bow was not simply for visual pleasure, and it had a purpose, and that his instrument was actually the violin.
From here he started seriously practicing and he would go around talking to street musicians and friends about his career. He was about thirteen when he had his first show in Grant Park, Chicago. The show attracted thirty people in the beginning, but by the time the night was over, there were over three hundred. They made him promise he would make this a weekly event. The following week his turnout multiplied and WGN radio came to broadcast his playing. Later that week the second violinist from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra called him up and offered to give him free classical lessons, if he promised to give free electric violin lessons in return.
Following his debut album, which he ended up recording with some CSO members, he toured the all over the US, but refused to play any concerts inside. He played in many parks and outdoor amphitheatres all culminating in his largest show to date at Central Park in New York City. Although he didn't charge admission to this show, he made six million dollars in tips, and by selling his shirts that say "We Don't Smell That Bad".
BerganEvan's new album Forte is a live album from the best of his outdoor tour. He now has millions of dollars and over twenty five violins, but still plays on his first violin, which he found in the trash, every concert when performing his first hit -- "Sleeping in the Sewer". Other hits of his include "We Don't Smell That Bad", "Why I Don't Play Guitar", "Never Have Kids (If You Still Act Like One)", and his most recent hit "Love Isn't Found In Paper Bags".
